In May of 2024, I was granted an Artist Fellowship through the great folks at Getaway - a cabin-based retreat to get rest and get outdoors.

I spent a few days in the Texas Hill Country, focused on drawings and walks in nature. Having the time away from the stresses of everyday life is one of the great things about participating in residencies, but the unique convenience of Getaway is that I didn’t have to travel very far or for very long.

The drawings I created primarily focused on rock forms, using water media, graphite, and colored pencil.
